Careers at Kintera Care

Support work with a family around you.

Kintera Care supports around 200 members with 500 support staff across our unique Vertical Villages and shared homes in New South Wales and South Australia. Every member has their own front door. Every support worker has a small team who know them, a lead who works alongside them, and an app that does the paperwork with you rather than after you.

We are always hiring support workers and senior support workers across Sydney, the Illawarra, the Central Coast and Adelaide.

Why Kintera

Most support work ads read the same. Here is what is actually different about working here.

Your own small team

A Family is five to seven support workers anchored to a few members, led by a Family Support Lead who works alongside you. You will know the members you support, and they will know you. Nobody is a number on a roster.

A village that is always there

Each village is around 50 people, members and staff together, with a Village Service Lead who owns it end to end. There is support on site around the clock, so you are not on your own with a hard moment.

Leaders whose job is your success

At Kintera, leaders serve the people they lead. Your Family Support Lead's job is to make you successful. The Village Service Lead's job is to make them successful. We use the word Lead, not Manager, on purpose.

A path that is real

We grow our leaders from within. Family Support Leads and Village Service Leads come from our support worker ranks, and developing people into those roles is how Kintera grows.

Our purpose is to help every person feel at home. Our members live in their own apartments in our Vertical Villages, or in shared homes where they have chosen companionship. You help build a life around each person, not just a service.

The Kintera App

Built with support workers, for the shift you are on.

Our own app, designed with frontline support workers and live in our first villages since 31 August 2026. It is rolling out across all our villages.

  • It opens on your shift, with the members you are supporting.
  • You record moments as they happen, by voice. Mood, meals, personal care: tap, talk, done.
  • Your progress note is drafted from what you recorded. You read it, fix it and own it. Nothing is saved until you confirm it is accurate.
  • You raise an incident or a concern from the same screen.
  • Handover for the next shift is built from the day, then checked by a person.
  • You see open shifts and accept the ones you want from your phone. An offered shift is an offer, not an instruction.
  • If you cannot make a shift you have accepted, you tell us through the app or your Family Support Lead as early as you can.
  • It is not a tracking tool. Your location is read once at sign-in and once at sign-out to confirm the shift started and finished at the right place. It is not followed during your shift.

What we expect, and what you can expect

What we expect of you

  • A member's choice is real. You work with it, not around it.
  • You work within your competence and ask for help early.
  • You report a safeguarding concern every time, through the proper pathway.
  • You honour the shifts you accept, and you tell us early when you cannot.
  • You protect members' privacy, including with their families.

What you can expect from us

  • Training before you are asked to do a task, including member-specific training for any high-intensity support.
  • The right equipment and staffing. A two-worker task is done by two workers.
  • A lead you can reach during every shift.
  • Respect for your time off. Outside your shifts you have the right to disconnect, and an offered shift is one you can decline.
  • Pay under the SCHADS Award, with your classification and rate stated in writing before you accept an offer.

Pay, conditions and checks

The practical details

You would be employed by We United Aus Pty Ltd, trading as Kintera Care (formerly United for Care), under the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award (SCHADS). Your classification, pay rate, employment type and hours are set out in writing before you accept. Casual roles carry casual loading, and a casual can decline an offered shift. Permanent and part-time roles have set hours and leave entitlements.

Before you work with members you will need an NDIS Worker Screening Check clearance (we will tell you how to apply if you do not have one), the right to work in Australia, and to have completed the NDIS Worker Orientation Module. Some vacancies also ask for a driver licence or a qualification, and the vacancy will say so. Everyone who works at Kintera works under the NDIS Code of Conduct.

We welcome applications from people with disability, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and people from every cultural background and stage of life. If you need an adjustment at any point in the process, ask. You do not need to share a diagnosis to ask for one.

How we hire

How we hire

  1. 1.

Apply. Apply for one of the roles we are always hiring for, or a specific village vacancy.

  2. 2.

A short assessment. About ten minutes, no timer, on a personal link. It shows you the real duties and asks how you would handle everyday situations. There is no score and no automatic decision. A person on the People team reads every response, and you can ask for an adjustment or a review at any time.

  3. 3.

A conversation. A structured interview with the People team and the village you would join.

  4. 4.

Checks. References, your NDIS Worker Screening Check and your right to work.

  5. 5.

A proper start. Induction, buddy shifts and member-specific training before you are rostered on your own, with check-ins at 30, 60 and 90 days.

Already have your assessment link? Open it from the email we sent you. Lost it? Contact the People team on 1300 405 260.
